The Clásico Regio comes to Houston with Rayados vs. Tigres in October

Both teams have agreed to play this game annually in the United States

Club de Futbol Monterrey, Club Tigres, and PRIMETIME Sports, proudly announced today that the legendary Clásico Regio, the most-passionate Clásico in Mexican soccer, is coming to Texas on October 14th at Shell Energy Stadium. Rayados and Tigres have agreed for the Clásico Regio to be played annually in the United States to bring the passion and pride of Nuevo León to all the fans.

El Clásico Regio is considered one of the most-passionate and intense derbies in the world and has only been played in the Unites States three times, all under the Interliga banner. The last time these two teams played in the U.S. was in the group stage of the Interliga 2010 tournament at Robertson Stadium in Houston. This will be the first time that this game is played as a stand-alone event.

Houston’s large population hailing from Monterrey will get a chance to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month like never before. Various activities will take place leading up to the game; including a charity event, and a major Fan Fest consisting of team legend appearances, mascots, trophies, celebrities, and musical performances.

Xavier Sánchez, Director of Business for C.F. Monterrey and Antonio Sancho, Vice President of Sports representing Club Tigres UANL, spearheaded the announcement with the presence of legends from both clubs.

There will be a pre-sale on Thursday, July 27th at 10:00 a.m. CDT for Houston Dynamo season-ticket holders and all fans that register at www.elclasicoregiousa.com starting on July 18th. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 28th at 10:00 a.m. CDT and will be available at seatgeek.com and ticketon.com.
