Over 60,000 fans in attendance
With over 60,000 fans in attendance between both matches, Tigres Femenil created another new precedent for women’s soccer in Mexico
The friendlies were a great opportunity for the club to face off against some of the best women’s teams in the world, further expand the institution’s name on a global scale, foster new relationships and revolutionize the women’s game even further.
Tigres as an institution sought to recognize the recent monumental achievement from some of the players of Barcelona and Real Madrid and presented those that were part of the Spanish National Team’s historic World Cup winning team with a special moment of their own.
Tigres also had a celebration of their own with newly signed Jamaican international Konya Plummer debuting for the club in the friendly match against FC Barcelona. The club was also pleased to introduce Alex Chidiac who joined the club last week after being part of the historic Australian Women’s National Team who made history as hosts of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Tigres officials were happy to welcome both of the clubs’ top figures including Xavier Puig, a member of the Board of Directors responsible for Women’s Football for FC Barcelona, Elena Fort, Vice President of the Institutional Areas for FC Barcelona, Angel Riudalbas, Board Member, Joan Ramon Ramos, member of the Sports Commission for FC Barcelona, Judit Farré, Head of Women’s Football Business for FC Barcelona, Juan Carlos Llorden, General Director for FC Barcelona, Josh Eshkenazi, President of Soccer Media, Michel Bauer, Director for Izzi, Begoña Sanz, Deputy General Director for Real Madrid and Ana Rossell, Women’s Sporting Director for Real Madrid.
