The Clásico Regio returns to Texas

Tigres and Rayados will clash at the Alamodome in October

The pre-sale will take place on Thursday, May 2nd at 10:00 a.m. CDT

Club Tigres, Club de Futbol Monterrey, PRIMETIME Sports, and the Alamodome announced today that the Clásico Regio is returning to Texas on October 12th at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

The Clásico Regio is the most intense regional rivalry in Mexico where year after year, the two Monterrey teams leave it all on the field. In Texas, these two squads play as if they were at home given the large number of people from Monterrey who reside in this beautiful state.

Last year, these two greats faced each other in the first friendly Clásico Regio in Texas at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston. The match was a complete success, with tickets selling out just a few days after the match was announced. This time around, the Alamodome is expected to witness the second consecutive sell-out of the Clásico Regio while closing out Hispanic Heritage Month.

Ron Nirenberg, Mayor of San Antonio, welcomed these legendary teams as well as all the fans from Monterrey who will visit San Antonio for the first time for this exciting match. The Consul General of Mexico in San Antonio, Rubén Minutti, also gave his fellow countrymen a warm welcome.

Damián Álvarez and Jesús Zavala, Tigres and Rayados legends, respectively, spoke of the relevance of this Clásico from the perspective of a player. Lastly, Xavier Sánchez, Commercial Director of Rayados, and Javier Tafich, Commercial Director of Club Tigres, kicked off the countdown for this great event.

The game announcement took place within the framework of Fiesta San Antonio 2024 and as tradition dictates, both teams gifted the special guests a commemorative medallion in order to celebrate the occasion.

There will be many activities around this long-awaited celebration, including a great Fan Festival that will feature legends from both teams, mascots, trophies, celebrities, and musical performances.

The pre-sale will take place on Thursday, May 2nd at 10:00 a.m. CDT for those fans who register at www.elclasicoregiousa.com starting on April 23rd. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 3rd at 10:00 a.m. CDT at ticketmaster.com and ticketon.com.
