Tigres Femenil will travel to Texas on April 6 to play two friendly matches.

Tigres Femenil will travel to Texas on April 6 to play two friendly matches against the University of Texas and Austin Elite FC on April 7 and 9, respectively, during the next FIFA window.

The matchup against the collegiate team will be held at Mike A. Myers Stadium, home of the famous Longhorns, and the game against Austin Elite will be at Elite Field, both stadiums with natural grass fields.

The Texas Longhorns women’s soccer program was established in 1993 as part of that year’s Title IX agreement. Since then they have won three conference championships, one regular season and two tournaments, and have been to 14 NCAA tournaments, reaching the Sweet Sixteen in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2017.

FC Austin Elite began its history in soccer in May 2015, seeking to open opportunities for women and athletes to compete at the highest level. They are also part of the United Women’s Soccer (UWS), which is a pro-am Second Division women’s soccer league in the United States that seeks to propel its athletes to become professional soccer players.
