Tigres Femenil today confirmed the selling of Stefany Ferrer to Angel City FC, creating history by becoming the first transfer of a player from Liga MX Femenil to an NWSL Team. This is also the first time in Women’s Soccer history that crypto currency has been used for this transaction.

We thank Stefany for her commitment to the team in her six months with us. She connected with her teammates and the fans in a short time and we will miss the joy and energy she brought to everyone around her.

Ferrer’s transfer is the first in the history of women’s football to be carried out through cryptocurrencies. It was facilitated by having Bitso as one of the sponsors of the San Nicolas institution, and at the disposal shown by Angel City FC.

“I have loved this experience with Tigres…I take their fans in my heart. Today I have to leave for Los Angeles with a lot of emotion and live an experience where I will continue my path as a professional player,” said Stefany Ferrer, former Tigres player and today a member of Angel City FC.

Ferrer was the first international player to sign for Tigres Femenil. She played a total of 10 matches, 224 minutes in the regular season, and scored one goal against Cruz Azul during the quarterfinals of the Apertura 2021 playoffs.
