FC Bayern Frauen, two-time German League Champions and one of the largest sports brands in the world, have today announced a partnership with another leader in women’s football, five- time Liga MX champions, Tigres UANL Femenil.

The multi-year collaboration between the two powerhouse clubs will begin with a friendly match on January 21, 2023 in Monterrey, Mexico.  The partnership will allow both clubs the opportunity to grow their respective brands outside of Europe and Mexico through various marketing and sporting initiatives.

“Mexico is home to a large FC Bayern fanbase and therefore is an important market for us. As we work to establish more presence within the country we are looking to align with the right partners. Tigres UNAL Femenil are leaders in women’s football and we look forward to bringing this initiative to life,” commented Andreas Jung, Executive Board Member for Sponsorship and Marketing.

“We are pleased to announce this partnership with FC Bayern Frauen. Together we aim to share best practice, create positive change within our communities and create unique experiences for our young players. FC Bayern is a huge global brand and we look forward to taking Tigres Femenil beyond the Americas,” said Mauricio Culebro, President of Tigres UANL.

“Partnering with Tigres Femenil is an important step in FC Bayern’s global mission to connect with our fans in a localized way. The partnership kicks off with an exciting match-up between the two teams and an important community initiative where FC Bayern and Tigres coaches run training sessions for Monterrey youth players,” Dee Kundra, Managing Director, Americas of FC Bayern Munich.

With this cooperation agreement, FC Bayern Frauen and Tigres Femenil hope to continue to grow the women’s game globally as well as utilizing football as a vehicle for social development in Latin America.  Additionally, every year three Tigres Femenil players and coaches will travel to Munich to train and share experiences at the FC Bayern campus alongside the FC Bayern Frauen.
