Monterrey, N.L., November 1, 2023. – Club Tigres Femenil in support of the club’s ongoing collaboration celebrating iconic DC Super Hero, Wonder Woman, hosted The Amazonas Unidas Forum on October 31, an event that highlights women empowerment in sports.

The ongoing collaboration between Tigres Femenil and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to celebrate DC’s Wonder Woman, which launched last year, continues to create spaces that promote and inspire more women to achieve their goals on or off the pitch. Club Tigres created The Amazonas Unidas Forum to promote dialogue amongst notable women who have demonstrated their skills in the industry both in sports and administration and have paved the way for others. The fundamental purpose of the forum is to give voice and visibility to the success stories of powerful women committed to the empowerment of women in football and sports in general.

Mauricio Culebro Galván, President of Club Tigres, said: “Our collaboration to celebrate Wonder Woman allows us to create spaces like the Amazonas Unidas Forum to reach women of all ages and show them that they can fulfill their dreams just as our players have done, and this event also reflects our firm commitment to promoting women in soccer and other sports.”

During the event, attendees participated in three discussion panels: “Amplifying Sport”, with the participation of Paulina Chavira, Bárbara Arredondo, Mariana Chávez and Cecilia Vales, Founder and Executive Director of She Wins, where they talked about the visibility and growth that women’s sports are having in the media and the importance of continuing to support it.

“We have discovered that soccer becomes a tool so that girls and women can make decisions that will be transformed into actions and achievements, in addition to the fact that sport gives us the opportunity to work as a team, be resilient and allows us to develop as humans,” Cecilia Vales shared during the panel.

In the panel “Beyond the Court”, Tigres Femenil players Cristina Ferral, Maricarmen Reyes and Nayeli Rangel, and Tigres Femenil Technical Director Milagros Martínez, shared the difficulties and successes they have had as sports professionals.

“I feel very lucky to help make women’s soccer a platform that gives us the opportunity to express ourselves, change lives and allows us to defend women and give them a place in the sporting world,” mentioned Tigres Femenil midfielder, Cristina Ferral.

During the final panel, “Professionalization of Women’s Soccer”, the panelists Mariana Gutiérrez, President of the Liga MX Femenil; Brenda Moller, founder of Dale la Vuelta, Lucía López, FIFA advisor; and Lucía Mijares, Director of Marketing and Innovation of Tim Hortons, highlighted the importance of having women in management positions in sports institutions.

As the partnership between DC and Tigres continues, there’s so much more for fans to look forward to which includes the upcoming release of a special Wonder Woman x Tigres merchandise line of apparel and limited-edition replica jersey.
