Club América and Club Tigres continue to increase the visibility of Liga MX Femenil internationally by welcoming FC Barcelona, current Women’s Champions League and the Spanish League at Estadio Azteca and El Volcán.

FC Barcelona, holder of the most Spanish League titles with eight, will visit the Aguilas, current champions of Liga MX, and the Amazonas, winners of the Campeón de Campeones of Liga MX Femenil. The two teams will play in Mexico City on August 29th and in Monterrey on September 1st in two of the most iconic stadiums in Mexico.

Club América and Club Tigres have been pioneers in Mexico in the dispute of matches with teams of international stature. América Femenil, has played international matches with teams such as Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan, OL Reign and Angel City FC participated in the 2022 Women’s Cup as the first Mexican team in an international tournament. In addition, the second match played against O Reign in February this year was held within the framework of the unique international alliance with Olympique Lyonnais and OL Reign.

Tigres Femenil previously faced the Houston Dash on two occasions, once in El Volcán and once in Texas, and also played Angel City FC as part of an alliance between the two institutions that go far beyond the pitch. In January of this year, they also hosted FC Bayern Munich for the Copa Amazonas as part of a collaboration agreement between both teams.

Both matches, organized by Soccer Media Solutions, will allow the teams to continue with their efforts to increase their presence internationally and use this as an opportunity to measure themselves against one of the most important teams in the world.

The match against the winners of two Champions Leagues will also allow the Mexican fans to see some of the world stars of women’s futbol facing multiple champions of Mexico.
