Another historic move by Tigres Femenil

Official Statement

Uchenna Kanu’s player rights have been acquired by the NWSL team Racing Louisville FC. It is the most significant transfer in the history of Liga MX Femenil.

We are happy to announce that Uchenna Kanu is flying to new heights and is now part of Racing Louisville FC, becoming our league’s most significant transfer to the NWSL. As a team, we are excited to see one of our most beloved players follow her dreams to continue making an impact through her high skills as a football player.

Uche became a key player for the team with the most championships in the history of the Mexican domestic league. Uche was the first African player in Liga MX Femenil and the first international player to score a hat-trick. She was an essential part of the team who lifted its fifth trophy in five years. With 38 matches in liga-liguilla, 23 goals – the last one against Bayern Freuen -, six assists, and 2,576 minutes played for the Amazonas, we are delighted for Uche to start this new adventure in one of the best leagues in the world.

We are also excited to share that we have signed an all-American NWSL Draftee, Riley Mattingly Parker, who played for Alabama Soccer and was drafted in 2022 by Racing Louisville FC. She scored 17 goals for the Crimson Tide last season and was a 2022 semifinalist for the Women’s MAC Hermann Trophy. We know she will bring even more power to one of the best offensive attacks in the league.

Tigres is looking forward to continuing growing and opening the doors for exciting players who, with their talent, are taking us to the next level, as Uchenna Kanu did.
